Tijuana Flats’ New Jerk Chicken Taco features Goldson’s MoreFire! Hot Sauce

Tijuana Flats rolls out with a New “Flat Outrageous” menu to spark off the 2017 summer. The “Flat Outrageous” items include some bold selections for those wanting to experience some unique new flavors.

  • Crispy Baja Fish Taco
  • Lime Steak Taco
  • Jerk Chicken Taco
  • Philly Cheesesteak Flautas
  • Bangin’ Chicken Tostadas

But let’s get to why we are really here… shall we? The New Jerk Chicken Taco is the taco we wanted to zoom in on because it is topped with the one and only… multi-award winning Goldson’s MoreFire! Hot Sauce. In this taco includes… crispy jerk chicken, MoreFire! Hot Sauce, shaved cilantro cabbage, pineapple salsa & cotija cheese.

I know…   I know. To give a food product review of a taco which features our hot sauce might be a bit bias, but even with that said we’re going to give it a shot anyway and leave the rest for the critiques and readers like you to decide.

Presentation:

At first glance, the presentation was beautiful and gave very much of an island vibe. The tacos looked like nothing I’ve seen before with the crumbled cotija cheese coating the top of the taco with shaved cilantro cabbage peeking through all sides.

Ingredients:

Merely by looking at the listed ingredients, you can tell that the folks at Tijuana Flats were trying to hit on that sweet and spicy combination with the jerk chicken and pineapple salsa.

Also, if you’ve ever tasted MoreFire! Hot Sauce by itself, you would be able to experience the levels of flavor which are gradually introduced to your taste buds. First is sweet, next is smoky, then lastly is the spicy kick of scotch bonnet pepper.

So with a combination of the taco ingredients and the MoreFire! Hot Sauce to top it off. You can imagine that your taste buds and flavor pallet is in for a treat and wild ride.

Taste:

As I picked up the taco in the soft corn tortilla, it was a little difficult to hold but was able to manage. The first bite you make note of the surprising crunch of cilantro cabbage. I tried to make sure my first bite included a little bit of everything.

“Out the gate” don’t think it is too spicy, which is OK being that everyone’s tolerance differs. A trip to the Hot Sauce Bar can fix that, but with all the added flavors I think the heat is smoothed out with the blend of accompanied sweetness in the pineapple salsa.

The levels of flavor did not disappoint. Also to note, the hearty chunks of jerk chicken and kick of the MoreFire! Hot Sauce made this my new favorite taco at Tijuana Flats.

I tend to like my food fairly spicy so for my second taco I went over to the Hot Sauce Bar and added even more MoreFire! Hot Sauce. This made the second taco even better than the first.

Overall:

Overall I would definitely recommend this taco to anyone who can appreciate bold sweet and savory flavors with a dab of flavorful spicy heat to match.
